Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M) has announced sales of 75,000 units of the XUV500 SUV within 27 months of its first launch in end-September 2011. The XUV500 was designed completely at Mahindra’s research and development facility called Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) located in Chennai. Pravin Shah, Chief Executive, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Stated, “We are overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response from customers to the XUV500 that has led to impressive sales of 75,000 plus vehicles in just over two years since its launch. This is a benchmark for sales among high-end SUVs, for which we are humbled. As a customer centric organization, we keep on evolving and the launch of the W4 variant bears testimony to the same”.
The Mahindra XUV500 has racked up 1.5 million plus fans on its Facebook page and more than 7.5 million views on its Youtube channel. The entry level ‘W4’ variant was recently made available to buyers at an attractive price of Rs 10.95lakh (ex showroom Delhi). After gaining huge support from customers, the XUV500 also won numerous awards from automobile experts. The Mahindra XUV500 had also topped in Customer Satisfaction in the SUV segment in the 2012 study conducted by TNS Automotive India.
